China Cleanroom Engineering Company, in cleanroom projects, has high material requirements for cleanroom decoration, and the choice of ceiling materials is even more critical. So, what factors should be considered when selecting materials?
Typically, waterproof gypsum board is essential for cleanrooms. However, due to frequent water scrubbing and disinfection in biological cleanrooms, even waterproof gypsum board can become damp and deform over time, and it is not washable. This makes gypsum board unsuitable for biological cleanrooms as a surface material.
1. Cleanrooms are frequently cleaned daily. In addition to water, disinfectants, alcohol, and other solvents are also used. These liquids contain chemicals that can discolor or peel some materials, so the surface of the decoration materials must have a certain degree of chemical resistance.

2. The moisture content of wood used in cleanrooms must be less than 15% and should not be exposed. Due to the high air exchange rate and relatively low humidity in cleanrooms, the use of large amounts of wood is not recommended, as it is prone to deformation, loosening, and dust accumulation. Localized use is acceptable, but it must be treated with corrosion and moisture protection. For sterilization purposes, cleanrooms typically install trioxygen (O3) generators. This highly oxidizing gas accelerates oxidation and corrosion of metals in the environment, and can also cause fading and discoloration of coatings due to oxidation. Therefore, cleanroom decoration materials must possess excellent oxidation resistance and be resistant to rust. Durable ceramic tiles should remain durable and free of cracking and deformation for extended periods of time. This can be determined by dropping ink on the tile and observing whether the ink spreads. Generally, slower spreading indicates lower water absorption, better quality, and greater durability. Conversely, slower spreading indicates poorer durability.
3. Anti-slip ceramic tiles: Their anti-slip properties are crucial and are typically used in bathrooms and kitchens. Anti-bacterial wall coverings are rarely used in cleanrooms. They are primarily suitable for areas with lower cleanroom requirements, such as auxiliary rooms and clean corridors. Anti-bacterial wall coverings are applied to the wall, with joints tightly joined, similar to wallpaper. Because it uses adhesive bonding, it has a short lifespan and is prone to deformation and denting due to moisture. Furthermore, the overall quality of the decoration is low, resulting in a limited range of applications.
4. Decorative panels are made by precisely cutting solid wood into thin 0.2mm thick veneers, using plywood as a base material and gluing them together to create a single-sided decorative panel. This is a unique form of plywood, with a thickness of 3cm. Decorative panels are a superior decorative material, unlike oil-based methods.
